Art in America, 2008 -
“…the paintings conjure up a kind of Dantesque inferno, a cosmic dark place that is at once fearful and elegant.”

Art News, 2008 -
“…real monsters, inchoate amalgams of humans, animals and vegetation…there is a sly joy underlying it all.”

Edward Lucie-Smith, Author and Art Historian -
“…fantasy and apparent irrationality serve as an easily penetrable cloak for ideas both about the workings of society, and about relationships between humankind and surrounding nature. It is this element that serves as the foundation to Kate Eric’s work.”

Art News, 2004 -
“Representational and abstract, accessible and obscure, macabre and humorous, their work cleverly straddles contradictions.”
